Job Title: SEN Service Development Officer

SOC Code: 3554 – Advertising and Marketing Associate Professionals

Reporting To: Director / Registered Manager

Location: Ipswich / Colchester and Community-Based Services

Hours: 38.5 Hours Per Week

Salary: £16.50- Per Hour

Purpose of the Role

 The SEN Service Development Officer shall be responsible for the promotion and strategic development of JCM SEN Services, with a focus on increasing referrals, establishing and maintaining strategic partnerships, supporting existing Jcm family engagement, and enhancing awareness of specialist services available to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to new private clients .

The post holder will serve as a key liaison between families, educational settings, community organisations, healthcare professionals, and JCM services, ensuring the continued growth, accessibility, and sustainability of SEN programmes.

Key Responsibilities

 Marketing and Promotion of SEN Services (40%)

• Promote JCM SEN Services throughout local communities, schools, nurseries, healthcare settings, and professional networks.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate marketing strategies and campaigns to increase awareness of JCM services.

• Prepare and disseminate promotional materials, including brochures, newsletters, presentations, and digital content.

• Represent JCM at exhibitions, networking events, conferences, community events, and professional forums.

• Support the maintenance and development of website content relating to SEN services.

• Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for service development and expansion.

• Promote JCM’s SEN childcare, tutoring, respite care, behavioural support, and family support services.

• Generate enquiries and support the effective conversion of enquiries into service users.

Referral and Partnership Development (25%)

• Establish, develop, and maintain professional relationships with primate clients,nurseries, childminders , training centres /colleges, community organisations, educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and other referral agencies.

• Develop and strengthen referral pathways to improve access to JCM services.

• Represent JCM at multi-agency meetings and professional networking events.

• Foster strategic partnerships that contribute to organisational growth and service development.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of referral sources and partnership contacts.

• Assist in the preparation of service proposals, partnership agreements, and related documentation.

• Identify and pursue funding opportunities, grant programmes, and community initiatives relevant to SEND services.

Family Engagement and Community Outreach (20%)

• Act as an initial point of contact for prospective families seeking support and guidance for our Jcm Sen services.

• Conduct introductory consultations with parents and carers to assess needs and provide appropriate information.

• Provide comprehensive information regarding available services and support pathways.

• Organise and facilitate parent information sessions, workshops, awareness campaigns, and community engagement activities.

• Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with families and carers.

• Support the collection of family feedback and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

• Promote inclusion and encourage community participation for children and young people with SEND.

• Coordinate community awareness programmes focusing on autism, ADHD, behavioural support, and additional needs.

Programme Coordination and Service Support (15%)

• Support the coordination and delivery of SEN childcare, tutoring, respite care, behavioural support, and community programmes.

• Assist with service scheduling, client onboarding, and administrative processes.

• Contribute to service monitoring, evaluation, and quality assurance activities.

• Maintain accurate records, referral logs, and outcome data in accordance with organisational requirements.

• Prepare reports relating to referrals, service uptake, occupancy levels, and programme outcomes.

• Ensure compliance with safeguarding requirements, GDPR, and organisational policies and procedures.

• Support programme evaluations and continuous service improvement initiatives.

General Duties

• Promote and uphold the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.

• Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately at all times.

• Work in accordance with safeguarding policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.

• Undertake training and continuing professional development as required.

• Travel within the community to attend meetings, events, and outreach activities as necessary.

• Undertake any other duties reasonably required by the organisation and commensurate with the responsibilities of the role.

Person Specification

 Essential

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

• Experience of working with children, young people, families, or within community services.

• Experience in marketing, business development, community engagement, customer relationship management, or partnership development.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organisational, administrative, and time-management abilities.

• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships.

• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications and digital communication platforms.

• Enhanced DBS Check.

Desirable

• Experience supporting children and young people with SEND, Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or learning disabilities.

• Knowledge of SEND services, legislation, and best practice.

• Working towards a qualification in Early Years, Childcare, SEND, Education, Psychology, or a related field.

• Experience working collaboratively with community organisations, educational settings, or healthcare professionals.

• Experience in organising events, workshops, or public awareness campaigns.

 Number of referrals generated.

• Number of active partnerships established and maintained.

• Achievement of occupancy and service growth targets.

• Family satisfaction levels and feedback outcomes.

• Delivery of community engagement activities and initiatives.

• Performance of marketing campaigns and lead generation outcomes.

• Increased awareness, accessibility, and utilisation of JCM SEN Services.
